IQ Biometrix Partners with 7-Eleven and CrimeStoppers to Fight Crime

FREMONT, Calif., Aug. 6, 2003
IQ Biometrix Inc. IQBM, a worldwide provider of integrated law enforcement and security solutions, announced today that 7-Eleven Inc. SE and CrimeStoppers will provide FACES composite software and training to Chicago and Boston area police departments.

7-Eleven is the leader in convenience retailing with approximately 5,800 stores in the United States and Canada. The funds used by 7-Eleven for this project were earmarked by the company's Great Lakes Division operation, including close to 600 stores in the upper Midwest and New England.

"This is an initial pilot of our corporate partnership program that brings public and private agencies together to help police protect their communities," said William Scigliano, CEO and president of IQBM. "It's the first in a series of projects across the United States and Canada to ensure that police have the best possible tools to fight crime."

"7-Eleven has always been a proud supporter of local law enforcement agencies," said Rick Fernandez, loss prevention manager for the 7-Eleven's Great Lakes Division. "With this initiative, Chicago and Boston area police officers can develop more accurate and effective suspect composites and bring criminals to justice more quickly."

"CrimeStoppers welcomes this opportunity to help police get crime-fighting technology that could otherwise be beyond their resources," said George McDade, president of Cook County CrimeStoppers. "We want to make sure that police have every advantage to identify and apprehend suspects and make communities safer."
